We started the celebrating on Friday night, when we went to our town's local Christmas celebration. We got to see a lighted firetruck parade, and ride a mini-train. It was super cold, so we only stayed for a 1/2 hour, but the boys had so much fun.
The boys bundled up and making funny faces while waiting for the train.

On Saturday we visited the Morton Arboretum. They had a huge model train display, and our local adoption group was meeting there. It was so much fun. The boys loved the trains (although Spike wanted to eat the candy off of the gingerbread houses that were on display). We also got to spend a little time with another family who has a son who was born in Korea. We recently found out that we lived in the same town, even though we've been reading each others blogs for a while.

On Sunday we had Monkey's train party. Unfortunately, I didn't take very many pictures. I left that up to my parents, so I'll have to post those later this week.
The birthday boy!
Playing in the bouncy (my parents borrowed).
Finally, on Monday (his actual birthday) the four of us went to dinner and Monkey opened our present to him. It was quite a series of celebrations, but we had a great time.

A really cute picture of Spike. He was posing for the camera!
I love my big boy!The only drawback to such a huge celebration, is that we no longer have anything to get the boys for Christmas! Everyone was extremely generous, and definitely made his birthday one to remember!
