Many of my fellow bloggy friends have recently announced that they are in the process of adopting another little boy. As a mother of two little guys, I am so excited for them. While it is fairly well known that boys are...hmmm....how should I put this....crazy!...in my opinion there is truly nothing better. Monkey and Spike truly love each other, and I love watching their bond grow each day. I also love watching the changing dynamics between the two as Spike gets bolder, and Monkey gets older. We have our fair share of brotherly moments (i.e. fighting), but more often the kids are happily playing together. Spike loves to imitate his older brother in whatever he is doing, and Monkey announces at least once a day that he "really loves his baby brother."
There are a few things that I've learned from having two boys, though, that I thought I'd share. If any other moms with siblings would like to add to it, I'd love to hear your thoughts too!
Top Ten Things I've Learned With Two Little Boys (in no particular order)
1)You will never arrive anywhere on time. It doesn't matter how early you start getting ready, someone will either have to potty, find their special bear, get a drink, etc.
2)With 2 boys (3 including my husband) there is no way around it - farts are funny.
3)Even if you get each boy the same exact toy, they will want the one the other has.
4)Little boys have no fear...of anything. Jumping off of a couch, squeezing themselves into tiny spaces, climbing up the t.v. stand...
5)Little boys LOVE their mommies:).
6)Boys love to get dirty. If there is mud, they will find it. If there is a puddle, they will jump in it, if there is dirt hill, they will climb it. And just in case one of them doesn't notice it, the other will be sure to point it out.
7)You will never be able to finish the laundry. By the time you wash everything in the laundry baskets, another load will have accumulated (usually on the floor where the hamper is supposed to be).
8)Your husband will buy toys "for the boys" that he secretly wants to play with.
9)A public outing will never be the same. With two kiddos, you are now evenly matched, and you and your spouse will each be in charge of one boy. And being boys, they will not stay in one place for very long, making it difficult to socialize with other adults.
10)Two little boys can make your heart feel fuller than you ever imagined. They can make you happier than you ever thought possible. And you will not be able to imagine your life before they came along.

Love that photo of them! So cute! I love your list, too. Having two boys does sound interesting (and great, too)!
I LOVE this list! It had me laughing out loud... and slightly scared about adding to our family ;)
Truly, though, I'm excited to have two kids soon.
And I got news for you... my little girl thinks her farts are HILARIOUS. Classy gal.
I love this list. It's not scaring me off, just making me more and more excited.
Having a boy is SO fun....and 2 of them is twice the goodness! I love the sweet relationship your sons have.
We're thinking our next one will be a boy, too, so thanks for the tips!
HAAAA I LOVE this post! As a Mom of 2 boys I totally agree with everything you said. Especially #8, my husband has been using the boys as excuses to buy himself toys since day one. Either that or my one year old was way behind not being able to control a remote control boat (which has since lead to the car, truck, and helicoptor lol).
LOVE having 2 boys!
You are so right. Most of the rules apply with just one boy and a Daddy and a little girl that wants to immitate both of them. I love the farting rule. When I found out I was pregnant with Haven, I actually cried because I couldn't imagine a house that had more boys in it than girls and I didn't want bad manners in my house. Wow - have things changed - I can't imagine my life without it.
love the list and love the photo! thanks for sharing! i have so enjoyed watching the relationship of *2* of my own :).
Kara, this list is SO GREAT. I love it. It has me so excited to add a 2nd boy to our family.
#2 is absolutely hilarious and #4 worries me. Although, my husband survived all of his craziness as a child so I guess we'll be okay.
Thanks again for the great list. More pictures of the boys please!
Thanks for this fun list! We are still contemplating what our future holds.
When we got on the list for a boy...one of my best friends told me #5 :)
I couldn't have said it better myself - great list!!
The other thing about boys is that I'm mystified by the things they think are fun - like running head first into walls, or pretending to slide into home plate on the hardwood floors, or just even just the way they're fascinated by and always playing with their, ahem, body part. It never gets old. But I wouldn't change a thing!!
Kara this posting is so sweet and I loved it. I had tiers in my eyes almost the whole time.
Love you guys. :)
What a fabulous list... I think I'm going to like following your blog! ;-)
(Although as of late I am thinking one little boy may be PLENTY for me!)
