This year we were able to spend 8 days in Florida. This has become an annual trip and we really enjoyed this vacation. My parents friends were once again extremely generous and let us use their condo on the beach. The boys are at a great age for a family vacation. They are fairly self-sufficient, but still want us around all the time!
Since it was such a long trip, I won't bore you with a play by play of all of our activities. Instead I'll just list some highlights and include some pictures.
~ All four of us slept in the same room for the first time ever. We (unfortunately) didn't get to sleep in...ever...but it went much better than expected!
~ Monkey finally went in the sand (sometimes with shoes on) and loved it! Spike had no problem with the sand.
~ Both boys had a great time jumping the waves in the ocean.
~ Lots of sand castles were built, especially in the shape of trains.
~ The pool was a big hit!
~ We went fishing a few times, and were lucky enough to see a dolphin up close.
~ We enjoyed nightly walks on the beach collecting sea shells.
~ We took a boat tour and went alligator spotting.
And thank you to Nonni and Peepaw for making our trip extra special. It was a great time!

Looks like an awesome trip! I'm glad the sleeping arrangements went well, even though you had to get up early. How cool that you saw a dolphin up close! That's definitely cooler than that scary looking alligator! :)
How wonderful! The nightly walks on the beach sound divine. I've got to work up some courage before we take our first trip. But hearing how well yours went gives me a boost :)

i agree that the train sand castles are awesome! it all looks and sounds wonderful, especially the evening walks on the beach.

What a perfect trip! Sleeping in the same room as your kids sure is something you need to adjust to. Cool trains - but not too sure on the alligator - yikes!

Well I just got back from the beach and now after seeing your photos I am longing for more! Looks like a great vacation. It's so peaceful being near the ocean, isn't it? And how cool to see the dolphins, but I'll have to pass on the alligator. EEEK!
