Our Last Day

Well, it's Thursday evening for us, and we've had another great day. It's been strange because we really just want it to be 5:00 so we can finally call Spike our own.

We relaxed this morning and were able to go to Eastern's nursery and hold and feed the little ones. We were so lucky and got to stay there for about an hour. There were about 18 babies there, and I just wanted to take them all home with me. They were all so adorable, and obviously well cared for. It was nice to see considering Spike spent the first few months of his life there. Afterwards, we went to meet Dr. Kim. She told us that her father, the elder Dr. Kim, was not feeling well. She said he wasn't seriously sick, just that he was too tired and not up to meeting all the adoptive families. We had really hoped to meet him since he was the one who founded Eastern and has helped countless children find homes since 1972. But the younger Dr. Kim was wonderful too, and she shared with us the history of Eastern and Korea, and it was obvious she loves her work. We were able to eat lunch with her and some other adoptive families which was great. We ate bibimbap so I was a happy camper!

After lunch we went to a Korean bookstore (thanks Cori!) so that we could get some books and keepsakes for Spike. It was a huge place and interesting to see.

And now we wait...Luckily there is a party at the agency in honor of the new year. We are going there for about an hour, and then will meet Spike's foster mother to receive him forever. This may be the last posting until we get home. I'm sure it will be an interesting night, but I can't wait to start our new life with our new son.

I will post more pictures when we get back. We packed up a lot of our things in anticipation of getting Spike.

Love you all!
