The Final Phone Call

In the world of adoption, sometimes it seems like all you do is wait. Wait for paperwork to be processed, wait to receive forms in the mail,...But it seems like the most important things that we have waited for throughout this process have come in the form of a phone call. Our referral call, our travel call, and today the call that made Spike officially ours.

Spike was officially adopted today, or as Andy said, he can now run for president. It was a pretty uneventful process, as the lawyer just had to pick up the documents from the courthouse. She then called us to let us know that the adoption was finalized. Spike has been ours in our hearts and minds since the day we saw his picture, but our completed family is now completely official. And that feels good!
