Yellowstone

When my dad turned 60 in January, my mom decided to skip the surprise party and spend the money on tickets to take the whole family out west. We spent the last week in Jackson Hole, Wyoming with my parents and brother. We had an amazing time hiking, driving through the National Parks, seeing animals, and enjoying the time with family.

The boys were so good with the traveling. They had a bunch of long days and were totally off schedule between the time change and sight seeing. We were able to see bison, moose, eagles, deer, marmots and pronghorns. But Monkey and Spike's favorite was a tiny little animal called a pica. Go figure!

The boys also had a great time seeing Old Faithful. Truthfully, it was pretty cool, but went really quickly for the 2 1/2 hours it took us to get there! But the kids thought it was amazing, and it was fun for us to see their excitement.

My brother and I went on a few hikes together, but the coolest was through Yellowstone. We took an 11 mile path that led us through a forest, past some active and inactive hot springs and down to a beautiful canyon. It was absolutely beautiful and breathtaking.

While I was doing the hike, Andy, the boys and my parents took a tram up to the top of the Teton Mountains. Monkey and Spike had a great time, and I couldn't believe how high up they were!

We had a great time on our vacation. It was a great way to start off the summer!
