Saturday morning I ran a very cool race that ended on the 50 yard line at Soldier Field. Luckily, it started very early, so the heat wasn't an issue. It was definitely fun to run along the lakefront and see Soldier Field from a very different perspective! Later that afternoon, we went to a baseball game that one of my students was playing in. He was SO excited to see us there. He happens to be Korean, and his mom suprised us with some homemade seaweed soup and some very cool Korean fairy tale books! We all had a great time.
On Sunday, we did yardwork all day. It's so different this summer having two kids who are somewhat independent. Andy and I were both actually able to work at the same time (though not for very long), while the boys kept themselves busy at the water table. Sunday night we celebrated Momo's birthday. The kids played in the sprinkler again (even though I didn't bring suits), and had fun eating cake and ice cream.

Monday, we attempted to go the Memorial Day parade. It looks like we were there for a while from the pictures, but unfortunately the parade was cancelled because of the weather. We still had fun playing around with our flags though!
Finally, I wanted to say a big congratulations to two of my bloggy friends who just brought their children home. Kara and Rita, I am so happy for you and your families! And to ou dear friends Rick and Patti-Congratulations on becoming a mommy and daddy! Rick and Patti got a referral for their son on Thursday, and he is absolutely beautiful! I can't stop thinking about him, so I can only imagine how they must feel. We are all SO happy for you both!

As a student I never realized the teachers were just as excited as I was for school year to end - I loved that feeling! Congratulations on another year done and a great summer ahead!

Just to clarify...that is unfortunately not our backyard. I wish! Auntie Kathy and Uncle Eric have sure done a great job with theirs though!
