A few things have happened over the past few weeks that have made me realize how fast my little guys are growing up. Added to the fact that Mother's Day was this past weekend, and I've been a little emotional lately!
We signed Monkey up for pre-school for next year. I know he's 3, and that technically he's going to be one of the older kids in his class, but it still seems too soon!!! Since he goes to daycare already, I know he'll do fine, but something about him officially being in school makes it seem so grown-up. It feels like just yesterday I was changing his diapers and feeding him baby food. I am reminded once again how important it is to cherish these years, and keep loving on him and giving him lots of kisses while he'll let me (A rule in our house is that they have to give me kisses any time I ask until they're in junior high).
Spike is just starting to use words on his own, and is able to communicate with us using his voice. Again, this is AMAZING progress, but also makes him seem to be getting older so much faster. But is is totally cute to hear his interpretations of certain words, and so heart-warming to see his confidence start to improve. He is such a sweet cuddly little guy, and I am taking advantage of all the hugs and kisses he can handle too.
At least once a day I stop and think about how lucky I am to be the mommy of my two little boys. And I will also remember to enjoy the little moments while they are still little. Because it's going too fast!

Your boys are such sweethearts! I've only been a mother for a year and I'm shocked at how fast time flies.
p.s. I still crack up when I think about all their funny little quirks from your previous posts!
I know what you mean. Time flies by so quickly!! A rule in my house is that even though you are a big girl/boy you will *always* be mommy's baby! My oldest "baby" will be moving on to 1st grade next year and I just can't believe it.
Growing up is so bittersweet. It's so fun to watch them learn new things and mature, but it's so sad to see the baby-ness slip away :(
I never thought it would happen to me, but I barely made it to my car before bursting into tears on Andy's 1st day of school. Your boys are getting so big and are turning into such sweet little men.
I know what you mean by those weeks where they seem "older." And you can't mark it with a specific milestone but they just are. As a mom, it's mournful and exciting all at the same time. BTW, I LOVE your "kisses until junior high rule!" I may have to steal that :)
Your little guys are so adorable! Time sure does go by so quickly. Reminds us we need to enjoy every minute.
It's hard to believe sometimes how old our children are getting! I'm sure Monkey will do great in preschool, but that is a big step! And I'm so happy to hear that Spike is talking a lot more! That's so great. :)
Love the photo of your two little guys just chillin' on the sofa. So cute! I hear ya on time flying too. I constantly have to remind myself to just enjoy and live in the moment. Already I can't believe we are almost at a year home with Noah. Where oh where did the time go?!!
You can be all the emotional you want, mama. They are special little guys, and are doing great!
If I may, the best is yet to come!! Four years old is in my book (and my mother's btw) the best age in the universe. They are still super sweet and adorable but they can do so much on their own and ask great questions and just give you a glimpse of who they are going to grow up to be. So also look forward too, because you still get to go through two years of having a 4 year olds!
BTW- if I were you I would negotiate mandatory kisses through the age of 21 or until you stop paying for their education, whichever comes last. :)
it goes by soooo fast! your boys make me so excited to have 2 little boys of my own someday! they are so much fun!
It goes by WAY too fast! Love your rule about the kisses, we have similar rules in our house lol!
It seems that once they start running, so does the clock - and it never stops!
