We did many things to celebrate the season, so I'm going to highlight a few...
One of the first things we did was to go to our town's holiday lights celebration. It was a cold Friday night, but we all had a great time. We bundled up the boys and pulled them in the wagon. They loved looking at the lights, carolers, and the many other holiday activities that were there. The highlight of the night was the lighted firetruck parade. The trucks are decked out with Christmas lights and characters, and the boys were enthralled. On our way out, we came across the Santa house, and we got to meet the man himself. It was mixed reaction...although Spike ran up to him and told him "choo choo!"
Daddy had class on Mon. and Wed. nights so the boys and I usually did some kind of holiday craft or activity. Two of their favorites were painting train ornaments and making a gingerbread train. Notice a theme there?
We had a great time putting up our tree and ornaments this year. The boys were really into it at first. Then they decided they'd much rather have a snack and watch us finish the decorating.
When it came time for the actual holiday, we were all ready! We spent Chritmas Eve morning at Momo and Pops house. Uncle Bob, Amy, and Uncle Tim were all there to celebrate with us. After a delicious lunch, we headed to Nonna and Peepaw's, where Uncle Jeff and Meemaw were also waiting for us. We opened gifts, ate dinner and had a great time!
Christmas day was truly special. After the holiday's last year, Andy and I decided it was important for our little family to spend this day at home. We woke up in the morning (bright and early of course) and ran downstairs to see if Santa had come. Spike ran straight to the cookie plate and was excited to see that Santa had left some leftovers, which he promptly ate. Then the boys tore into their gifts and had a ball. We were all definitely in the Christmas mood from the moment we woke up. After playing with our new toys for a while we headed to church for mass. Afterwards we headed home and Andy and I spent the rest of the day cooking, putting toys together and playing with the two best gifts we could ever ask for!
Christmas is yet another holiday that reminds Andy and I how lucky we are to have our family. We couldn't be any luckier than to be the parents of Monkey and Spike. I hope your holiday was as magical as ours!

What a great month of festivities! I adore so many of the photos, but the family shot just melts my heart. I *love* the train theme... and the fact that Spike went for (and ate!) the leftovers. So funny.

What a great Christmas! I love the wagon covered in blankets - how cozy. And I love the gingerbread choo-choo! Great photos of your holiday with your sweet boys. As a random aside, do you have white carpets and a white couch? If so, how exactly does one keep those things white with two boys?!! Inquiring minds want to know ... :)
