Soccer Stars

This spring, we signed both boys up for soccer. It was the first experience with a team sport for both boys, and we were excited to see what would happen.

Monkey absolutely LOVES everything about it. From his coach, to his red shirt, to his team name, to the actual sport. When we get to practice he runs right out onto the field and starts playing. It is so fun to watch him on the field!

Monkey is the little guy all the way to the left.

Spike has a love/hate relationship with the sport so far. He loves putting on all his gear and kicking around his new blue ball. But he isn't so sure about being on the field away from Mommy and Daddy and his brother. Kudos to him for giving it a try every practice, even though by the end he usually ends up sitting in our lap. We're just proud of him for trying, and are happy he has a bit of an introduction to the sport.

It is hard to believe that my babies are old enough to be involved in sports, and I can't wait to see what they end up loving!

I can't wait for this, either! It looks like so much fun to watch these boys play soccer. I'm glad Monkey really likes it--maybe Spike will when he gets a little older!

Oh man, your posts always get me so excited for future stuff...brothers, teams sports, being on the sidelines watching, etc. Your boys are so cute! I love hearing how each personality is different on the field.

I can't wait for G to play sports. Thanks for the glimpse into the future. I'm glad Monkey loves it, but I think Spike will find whatever that he loves too :)

As someone who grew up playing soccer, I'm pretty excited for Max to give it a try. But I have to remember that it's ok if he doesn't like it :) Looks like your boys are having a good time (to differing degrees) and maybe Spike will start to feel more comfortable on the field soon - especially if his big brother is doing it!

How cool! We are not allowed to sign Alex up until next year - but he does have blastball! Our boys are growing up! Makes me sad and happy all at the same time.
