Family Days

Each January we celebrate two very special days for our family. Both my boys came home (Monkey from the hospital, Spike from Korea) during this month.

On January 1 we celebrate Riley's special day. He was in the NICU for a month after he was born, and we brought him home on New Year's day 2007. Five years later, Monkey decided he wanted to go bowling and eat pizza on his special day, so that's just what we did!

On January 23, we celebrated Spike's family day. We flew home on that turquoise plane with our son, and our family was complete. Spike decided he wanted to paint pottery and eat at Flying Buffalo Wings, so we made it happen.

Each Family Day we get the boys a special book and write the date on the inside. Hopefully, these books will be something they treasure as they get older. I have visions of reading the books to my grandchildren, and remembering each Family day. Either way, I enjoy selecting the books and they look forward to receiving them.

Happy Days to my Amazing Boys!

Sounds like two really fun days for me! And I'm really jealous with what both boys chose for their activities and food... both make me want to join in! I also love that you give them a book each year... how special is that?!
