Surprise! Andy, Monkey and I got THE CALL on Thursday. You might be as shocked as we were to learn that we are the proud parents of a beautiful baby boy.
As many times as I have imagined what the call (and seeing his picture for the first time) would be like, nothing could have prepared me. He is truly meant to be our son. In one picture his smile even reminds us of our Monkey.
So now we wait. We have a lot of paperwork being sent to many places. It all has to be processed before we can go and pick up our son.
If you've been checking our adoption ticker ~ and I'm sure you have :) ~ you'll notice we only had to wait 6 1/2 months for our referral (being matched with our baby). Although the wait seemed so long, at the same time this has happened much more quickly than we could have hoped!
And if you're trying to do the math...Monkey and our new baby will be 16 months apart. I can't wait for them to meet each other and become best friends!
I will post a picture of our new little guy tomorrow. And my apologies to my Lifelink friends who already read this same post. My head is spinning to quickly to be creative!
