No News is Good News

Whoever said that obviously wasn't going through an adoption!!! Still no word from USCIS, but I finally called our congressman, and they are going to intervene. I am hoping to hear something back this week, so we continue to wait. I am trying very hard to be patient and positive, but (as my husband can tell you) it's not always easy for me. As soon as I know more, I will keep everyone posted! In the meantime, it has been so comforting following along on other parents blogs who have their children home. When I'm reading these, it helps me see the light at the end of the tunnel! So, since I don't really have anything more to share, I thought I'd include some pictures that I finally downloaded from our cameras!

This is a picture of the second care package we sent to Spike. I keep picturing him in that little outfit (I LOVE the brown/blue combo) and hoping he's getting used to hearing our voices on the tape.

Here are some pictures of Spike's new room. We decided liked the idea of using airplanes since that is how we'll be bringing him home. You might notice that there isn't really anywhere for him to sleep:). We've been trying to work that out...right now he is sleeping with his foster mother, so we're going to co-sleep with him at first too. Then we'll see what kind of crib/bed he is comfortable in. By then, maybe Monkey will be ready for a big boy bed!

Speaking of Monkey...here is a picture of his room. It's been updated with what he calls his "BOOTIFUL new funurture." We just painted my old bedroom furniture green, but he seems to love it!

This is a picture of Monkey and his friend Andy at Brookfield Zoo. We also met up with Wilson, but Mommy forgot about her camera by then! Andy just welcomed home his baby brother from Korea. Congrats to the new family of four!

Finally, a picture of the three of us on Thanksgiving. I am truly blessed to have such a great family, but hopefully this will be one of the last holiday's we celebrate without Spike.

P.S. I am amazed that Monkey is actually looking at the camera. He has a mind of his own these days, and doesn't usually cooperate with picture taking! But isn't he so sweet!?!

I love the airplane theme. I really hope that you get your paperwork soon.

Kara...Spike's room is just darling! I'm sure he'll be at ease in there.
I'm sorry you are having the UCIS problems. You do seem to be handling it well though.

Kara, the rooms look great!!!

You should ask Courtney if she can get an update for you...

Hopefully your congressional person can get the answers for you. It shouldn't be the way you have to correspond but if you get the answers that is all that matters..... Heres hoping for good news soon!!!!

Hugs, jill b

CIS...looks like they have been a struggle lately for so many of us. The good news is your congressman is involved now and your file WILL get processed.

Good for you for staying proactive!

One day soon, the horrible waiting will all be behind you & it will make holding your baby that much sweeter.

The airplanes are so cute!!! Spike is going to love it. I have to say that the idea of sending a tape with your voices on it is excellent! I am glad that the paperwork mess is getting better.
