We found out on Thursday that Spike's first DCFS endorsement letter was issued, and we recieved our copy in the mail on Saturday. It took the estimated amount of time to arrive, so we have another step to check off our list. Things are moving slowly but surely. I am just trying to keep busy so I don't go crazy with the waiting (which can sometimes seem unbearable).
One of the things that has helped calm me the most is that our online friends, Jill and Sean got their travel call (or email). They graciously offered to bring a care package for little Spike, so I had a busy few nights gathering what we were sending. I ended up finding a sweet little tree rattle that held pictures...The best part was there was a monkey on the end! We also sent a "snuggly" that looks like the one Monkey carries around, but in a different color. We had Monkey sleep with it for a few nights, so hopefully it will smell a little like him -which is a good thing, trust me:)

We also found out that Monkey has an ear infection. We found out because we have had quite a few sleepless nights, and nothing can convince me to take him to the doctor like sleep deprivation! The bad news is that it looks like his tubes are falling out, and he may have to have another procedure to put in a new set. Then, of course I caught his cold and cough, although not until yesterday, so I can't complain too much!
Finally, we had the chance to meet and get to know another of our online friends. We had a great time talking with Kristen and Chris, and our boys had so much fun together. Their son has such a contagious laugh!
Well, that about sums up my week! I am leaving you all with this picture of Monkey. He loves putting ALL of his stuffed animals in his crib, and then pretends to take a nap with them. Precious!
